Background and Challenge
Abacus Flooring is an Australian owned and nationally recognised timber floor sanding and polishing business, located in Sydney, and serving the Sydney Metropolitan area for more than 30 years. Since their modest beginnings, Abacus Flooring has been building and maintaining a reputation as one of the highest quality service providers within their industry. However, their branding (almost as established as the business itself) wasn’t consistent with their vision of being ‘Sydney’s premium floor finishing service’.
Solution
We worked closely with Abacus Flooring to discover and understand who they are, what they believe in and where they are heading. At their core was a business which continues to be built on the premise of being honest, trustworthy, dependable and personable while delivering a premium service. We worked with the team at Abacus Flooring to develop a new brand identity to reflect this.
The new brand identity contains elements which provide a familiarity with the previous identity, this aids in maintaining existing brand equity. It is structured, symmetrical and stable, conveying ‘trust’ and ‘dependability’ and a new colour palette was created to reflect their premium service offering. We also developed the tagline ‘A finish you can count on’ to further promote ‘trust’ and ‘dependability’, and at the same time, provide a link to the business name. To support the core brand identity, we created a range of brand elements to add personality and flexibility of application across multiple touch points.
Results
A consistent, refined and flexible brand style and colour palette allows for variable applications across printed collateral and digital touch points. When applied diligently, the new brand will assist with attracting desired clientele and help grow the business as ‘Sydney’s premium floor finishing service’.
